NY NY

So far Dan and I are getting slightly worried; why you may ask? Well, so far we pretty much think New York absolutely kicks ass and this is worrying because we endured a blizzard yesterday and very below freezing temperatures today and we STILL loved it. This means that every other place we visit is going to have to roll out the red carpet. We can't understand why everyone thinks this place is so busy and chaotic - I like to think it's more just pure reckless abandon. Today we took the Staten Island Ferry to see the statue of liberty and New York skyline and that was pretty much awesome. Then we went to the free taping of the David Letterman show (English translation: Late night with Jonathan Ross) and that was even better. THEN we went to the biggest used book store in New York and anyone who knows me will know that that was secretly the highlight of my day. I have to say that the big disappointments were the Hersheys and M & M stores in times square - not one free sample in sight and all of the gaudy souveneirs prompted us to ask who buys this crap? Asians. That's who.
Tomorrow we are going to check out some new areas and wander through Chinatown and Little Italy. We are also going to hit up Brooklyn because it is the new hipster area and we are both pretty hip :) Bye for now! ash and dan

  1. Hi, This is mom. Didn't know how to sign up as a follower. The reason everyone thinks n.y. is so busy and chaotic is because it is from May to October. Only a very few special people? visit in the middle of winter. Anyway enjoy! Ash, I'll bet you are glad you took your yellow coat!
